11:31 p.m. - 11 July 2003 Lee took today as a mental health day; work has really been getting to him for the last couple of weeks. He's in the middle of a big project, one that can potentially make the hospital a lot of money, but it's proving to be more difficult to implement than they originally thought. Plus, his users are calling him with legitimate, difficult problems to be solved, but he can't get any help from the techs because they're busy trying to set up permissions for a folder for a department and other petty crap (no, I didn't make up that example). So, there may be some overtime in his future. We can always use the money. Anyway, since I was alone, I went to the paint store after work. We're finally to the point where we're ready to paint the house. The stark white walls are driving me nuts, but I'm having difficulty trying to pick out colors that will work with the godforsaken teal carpet that's in most of the public areas. We've got curtains in the living room and study that work, so I'm trying to pull colors from them, but it's not going so well just yet. The living room curtains have tiny bits of pink in them, which would work with everything, but it's really stronger than I really want to paint my living room. So I tried to match the carpet and get suggested palettes from that, but I didn't really see anything I liked. I think we may be looking for a while. Speaking of the house, I took a whole bunch of pictures last week, with the intention of setting up a photo tour. I still have the intention; I just haven't gotten around to it just yet. Really, part of it was me wanting to commemorate a mostly-clean house. I've managed to keep everything mostly picked up and organized for a couple of weeks now, which as those who have shared living space with me will attest, is pretty much a record. Lee is convinced I've gone nuts. Another delay is that I'm finally getting all the pictures from Disney World organized into albums. Actually, I'm trying to get all my pictures organized beforew vacation, so I can burn a CD or two to take along. I just need to convince the laptop and my desktop to talk to each other; I've got some pictures on the laptop that need to be on the desktop and vice versa, but I'm having trouble getting them to communicate. Of course, I haven't been trying very hard, either. I also finally finished writing the report of our trip to Disney World last fall. It turned out to be about 17 pages long, single-spaced, and I want to go back and add photos to make it even longer. I plan to submit it to MousePlanet in its current form, but I think I'll also put it up here. I'll do one page per day, and include a couple of pictures, so look for that...soonish. Much like everything else in my life...soonish.
