1:54 p.m. - 30 November 2001 So, what's happened? Well, my little sister got married, my boss was out for a couple of days, Thanksgiving happened, and I've spent the last week sick as a dog. This is on top of the time I was sick a couple of weeks a go. But this time, I've been under a doctor's (okay, a PA, actually) care and I'm going back to see him this afternoon. Basically, I have strep throat with a bad case of sinus congestion. The congestion makes me cough, which makes my throat hurt and want to narrow, which makes me almost want to puke, which generally leads to big nasty phlegm balls, some of which contain little blood specks. Oh, yeah, it's fun to be me. And have I mentioned lately how incredibly horrible daytime TV is? I was at home both Monday and Tuesday, although Monday is mostly a haze of pain and waiting at the doctor's office, and there was crap-all on TV. I did get to see an episode of ER I somehow managed to miss -- the live one, where Corday gets introduced. Lots of fun, but part of it made me sad for how bad ER has been lately. It really is "As the Hospital Turns" these days. And don't even get me started on The X-Files. I weep for what used to be. On the bright side, I found a new show to be geeky about: Buffy. Yeah, I know, I'm a little late, but I've been catching up with FX and episode guides, so I think I've got most of the backstory. I've got enough to know what's going on in the new ones, at least. And the musical was just freaking amazing. Particularly since the creator could barely read music not too terribly long ago. There is still creativity on TV, you just have to know where to look. And I have finally, finally, after a year of waiting, seen every episode of my beloved Good Eats. I've got all but the most recent one on tape, too (this week's started a few minutes early, so I wasn't ready). And hey, I've lost five pounds this week. This whole not having an appetite isn't all bad.
