Bits and pieces
My back hurts. I realize this is a common complaint later in pregnancy, but mine is directly related to the two hours I spent wrapping Christmas presents this evening.

Yes, wrapping presents. We bought them several weeks ago, and at this point, we only have a few left to get. And I'll be buying everything else online and letting the nice UPS man bring it to my door. I'm not going out there.

My charming niece was exposed to fifth disease at her daycare, so we were unable to have Thanksgiving dinner with my family on Saturday as we'd planned, but we did spend several days with Lee's family. We had a lovely Thanksgiving Day meal at Cracker Barrel, although my appetite is pretty non-existant these days, so I was only able to eat about half of it. I just got to have the rest later on.

I'm officially ten weeks now, so I'm one quarter of the way through this pregnancy. My mantra is "two more weeks," since theoretically I should feel better after the first trimester. I've thrown up twice in the last week, though, so I'm not counting on it. Both times it was while I was brushing my teeth, and that's not exactly something you can skimp on.

Other than that, I feel fine. My pants are starting to feel a little tight, and if I wear pantyhose it's all I can do at the end of the day not to rip them off and light them on fire. Today my feet really hurt; I suspect my feet are growing. The bad thing is that I think they're getting wider, and I already have a hard time finding shoes wide enough to fit me.

Sigh. I can't afford to buy all new shoes. Nor do I have any inclination to do any sort of shoe shopping.

Tomorrow, the tree goes up. It's December, so it's allowed. Lee says he would help, but he's a man and doesn't know how to decorate. He really just doesn't want to hear me fussing that I can't get the branches to look right.
