Christmas craziness
One might think that I'm not writing because I'm so busy. Alas, that is not the case. I'm just lazy.

Though I have gotten quite a bit done lately. I spent most of Saturday evening and Sunday morning baking cookies. Lots of cookies. Gingerbread men and stained glass cookies (shortbread with a center that's filled with crushed Jolly Ranchers that melt and spread out), so they both had to be rolled and cut out. I don't usually make cookies that require a cookie cutter, so this was a little different. But fun.

They were all for Lee's department at work (there are 20 or so of them. Baking cookies was the easiest gift solution) and he handed them out this morning. They seemed to go over pretty well -- I even had a phone call thanking me for them. But since someone ate a few of the stained glass cookies before I got up on Sunday, there weren't enough of them to give my boss some, too. So it looks like I have to go shopping for here after all. Rats.

Lee and I will both be working on Christmas day. Yeah, it kind of sucks, but a) we'll get time and a half and b) we get the 8 hours of vacation time that we can take next Friday, when we leave to go up to PA for my grandparents' 50th anniversary. We'll leave PA on Sunday and then we're taking Monday off and Tuesday is a holiday, so we will have some time for ourselves. Always a good thing.

I'm working on a cross-stitch sampler for my grandparents, and I hope I'll be done in time. It's called Legacy of Love and it's actually working up pretty quickly. If only I was as motivated to finish the rest of the projects that I've started but not finished -- or even that I've finished but haven't washed and framed. If only there were more hours in the day.

Tonight I've got to sit down and get the Christmas cards out. Actually, it shouldn't take too long, since I've got all the addresses set up in a merge file in Word. I just need to go back and double check that I have the correct addresses for some people. I worked on my physical address book last night, and took out some of the pages. I know I had about five addresses for one of my friends, and unfortunately, at this point they were all out of date.

And finally, go read this entry, which was written by one of my favorite people in the world. I never sang in the chorale, but Lessons and Carols was one of my very favorite parts of college, and I know exactly what she's talking about. Merry Christmas, y'all.
